At Today's Vision Creekside, we want to help you preserve your vision and stay abreast of the changes that occur due to aging, chronic conditions of the eye, and diseases. Our optometrist serving the Tomball and The Woodlands areas treats patients who prefer contacts over traditional eyeglasses. When you first visit our office, we will assess your condition to determine what is causing your vision difficulties and whether or not contacts are right for you. After helping you select the correct type of contact lenses, we will instruct you in inserting and removing them.
Contacts come in various types, including rigid gas-permeable, daily-wear soft, planned replacement, extended wear, and extended wear disposable. Our eye doctor, Dr. Davoodi, will assist you in determining which type will best suit your needs. Some patients do not choose to get contacts because they suspect they will have a hard time applying them. However, applying contacts is simple and will not hurt.
The first thing to do is check the package containing the contacts for damage before opening it. After opening the package, pour the contacts and solution into a cup made especially for contact lens storage. Take out a lens with your index finger and hold your lower eyelid down with the middle finger of the same hand. Take the other hand and raise your upper eyelid before placing contact lens onto your eye directly on the cornea. It helps to be looking down into a mirror or have one in front of you.
