Hard To Fit Contacts

If you're in the Tomball, TX, The Woodlands, TX, or Spring, TX, areas and looking for hard to fit contact lenses, we at Today's Vision Creekside are here to help you find the vision correction you need. Even if you've been told that you can't wear contact lenses due to astigmatism, an irregular cornea, or other eye issues, you might still be able to use hard to fit contacts.

Hard To Fit Contacts

It Starts with a Contact Lenses Exam

Getting a contact lenses exam is the first step toward finding out whether you're a candidate for hard to fit contact lenses. If you can't wear standard lenses, the chances are high that there's a hard to fit option that will meet your needs. You still have to have an exam, though, which looks a few different things.

First, this exam will test your vision, and determine the level of prescription you need. Second, the exam looks at the health and shape of your eyes, so you know whether there are any conditions you should be aware of, and whether hard to fit lenses are right for you.

Hard to Fit Contact Lenses for Eye Irregularities

If you have irregularly shaped corneas, keratoconus, astigmatism, or other conditions, it's likely that normal soft contact lenses won't sit properly. Instead, you may need rigid gas-permeable (RGP) lenses or scleral lenses. These fit differently, so they sit on your eye in a way that keeps them comfortable and healthy.

Colored Contacts May Still Be an Option

For people who really want colored contacts and have astigmatism, there may be a few options. The choices might be more limited than they would be for others, but there are some lenses that can work. If you need scleral lenses or other types of vision correction, though, colored contacts might not be right for your needs.
